Stone Hachas
Late Classic (A.D. 600 - 900)

The thin stone heads, commonly called hacha´s, were widely distributed on the southern coast and highlands during the late Classic. A variety of motifs were adapted to fit the hacha's basic shape reflecting great skill, creativity and inventiveness in stone carving. These beautiful objects were used in rituals associated with the ball game.
